Carl Lewis Obituary

Carl Thomas Lewis, age 66 of Isonville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at his home after an extended illness. Carl was born February 8, 1953 to the late Erma B. Lewis and Alice Peters Lewis. At the time of his death, he was 66 years, 9 months, and 21 days old. He was member of the Fannin Chapel United Baptist Church, in Isonville, Ky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, one niece Janet Lee Tackett, one great niece, Taylor Layne Lewis, two great-great-nephews Joseph Ryan Lester, Raden McDowell, and one brother-in-law Vonlie Skaggs Sr.

Surviving is three sisters, Joyce Ann (Harold Dean) Tackett, Reva Jean (Joe) Lester both of Morehead Ky. Loretta Skaggs of Mazie, Ky. Four brothers Wendell Lewis, Jack (Carol) Lewis, Homer (Edna) Lewis and Dennis Lee Lewis all of Isonville, and a host of family and friends.

Carl was an established musician, and his love for blue-grass music was a great part of his life. He loved nothing more than performing on stage with various musicians throughout the region. Above all, he loved to pick his Martin Guitar anytime he played music.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm, Monday, December 2, 2019 at the Fannin Chapel United Baptist Church with Elder Eulas Adams, Elder Phillip H. Caudill and Elder Denzil Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Erma B. Lewis Family Cemetery, Isonville, Ky. Visitation will be 6:00pm, Sunday, December 1, 2019, at the Fannin Chapel United Baptist Church, in Isonville, Ky. Herald  & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home,West Liberty, KY  in care of funeral arrangements.
