Carol Janis (Smith) Holbrook

Carol Janis Smith Holbrook, age 73 of Hwy 589, West Liberty, Kentucky passed away Tuesday November 13, 2018 in St. Claire Medical Center, Morehead, Kentucky after an extended illness. She was born April 11,1945 in Smith Creek, Kentucky a daughter of Auty and Pearlie Ison Smith. She was a member of the Crockett Community Baptist Church and was a certified nursing assistant. She was preceded in death by her parents Auty & Pearlie Ison Smith, son Gregory Allen Holbrook, grandson Ora Allen Holbrook, six siblings, William Selven, Gerald Seldon, Walter, Geraldine, Jason, and Bill W. Smith.

Surviving is her husband Elige Holbrook and six children Penny Sue & Larry Owens, Jack & Tami Holbrook, Keith Anderson Holbrook, Leah Faith Holbrook, Michael Lige Holbrook all of West Liberty, Kentucky and Rachael Dawn Holbrook of Isonville, Kentucky. Two sisters Marjorie & Lloyd Keeton of Fairborn, Ohio, Ruby Mae Cantrell & Roy of West Liberty, Kentucky. Twelve grandchildren, Aaron Lane Perkins, Betty Carol Perkins, Allen Lane Holbrook, Tabitha Garris, Melissa Leann Keeton, Navah Reese Holbrook, Brian Keith Holbrook,Talia Danielle Wheeler, Brandi Lea Hollon, Brady Russell Lewis, Maddison Grace Holbrook and Emily Faith Keeton. Eleven great-grandchildren, Dylan Goodpaster, Isabella Keaton, Victoria Garris, Olivia Garris, Eligah Lane McKenzie, Lane Holbrook, Chelsea Leann Keeton, Christian Hollon, Lauryn Lewis, Gregory Gene Keaton and Clay Wheeler.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm Friday November 16, 2018 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Elder Ricky Holbrook and Elder Hershel Wright officiating. Interment in Elijah Smith Cemetery, Smith Creek, Kentucky. Visitation 6:00pm Thursday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Brady Lewis, Brian Holbrook, Dylan Goodpaster, Wesley Wheeler, Larry Owens, Mick Lewis.
