Dearl Fraley Obituary

Dearl Fraley 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 3rd ,2019, at the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky surrounded by family. He was born May 16,1943 in Paintsville, KY. He is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Astor and wife Lexie (Ferguson) Fraley, brother, Dord Fraley and brother-in-law Buford Sherman.

He is survived by his wife Floetta Ison Fraley of 57 years, son Darrell Fraley and wife Michelle, daughter Cynthia Montgomery and husband Jimmy, son Chris Fraley and wife Ida, daughter Callie Miller and husband Derek, brother, Odell Fraley and wife Carol, sister Geneva Sherman. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Dearl worked at the Ford Motor Company, he also worked in multiple trades as a Pipe fitter, concrete finisher, plumber, electrician and welder, but he spent the biggest part of his life as a carpenter. He described himself as a “Jack of all Trades” and was always there to help family and friends with construction projects or any help that was needed. He was an avid outdoors men and enjoyed hunting. In his early life he spent his summers fishing and squirrel hunting. He then graduated to bird hunting, going all in as he often did with decoy birds and raising his own dogs. Later in life he enjoyed Coon Hunting and was a member of the American Coon Hunters Association. One of his passions was riding, especially when he realized it was easier to ride a mule to coon hunt rather then walk. He loved to go on horseback rides, he never met a horse that he could not ride. He was usually the first in line to take a ride on a sunny Sunday morning. He adored his westerns. It was not uncommon later in his life to find him reclined back watching the adventures of the Wild West. The family would like to thank the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center for taking such good care of him for his brief stay.
