In his early life he spent his summers fishing and squirrel hunting. He then graduated to bird hunting, going all in as he often did with decoy birds and raising his own dogs. Later in life he enjoyed Coon Hunting and was a member of the American Coon Hunters Association. One of his passions was riding, especially when he realized it was easier to ride a mule to coon hunt rather then walk. He loved to go on horseback rides, he never met a horse that he could not ride. He was usually the first in line to take a ride on a sunny Sunday morning. He adored his westerns. It was not uncommon later in his life to find him reclined back watching the adventures of the Wild West. The family would like to thank the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center for taking such good care of him for his brief stay.
