Elizabeth Stewart

Elizabeth Hollon Stewart, 88, of Hazel Green, KY, passed away September, 4, 2006 at Wolfe County Health Care Center, at Campton, KY.

She was born January 27, 1918, at Hazel Green, KY. A daughter of the late Captain James I. Hollon & Daisy Day Hollon.

Elizabeth was a homemaker, a local historian, and a longtime contributor to The Licking Valley Courier and The Wolfe County News. She was the last grand-daughter of the late J. Taylor Day and Rowena Trimble Day.

In Addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Stewart; two brothers, Kelly Day Hollon & James I. Hollon.

Survivors include two sons; Jamies Ivan Stewart, of Somerset, & Kelly Day Stewart, of LaGrange.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Hazel Green Christian Church, with Scott Lockard officiating. Burial followed in the Hazel Green Cemetery, with Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, of West Liberty, KY, in charge of arrangements.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions were suggested to Hazel Green Christian Church, or the Hazel Green Cemetery Fund.

Active pallbearers were Ernie Huff, Jim Hornbuckle, Kenny Clark, Ben Lindon, Roy Rogers, Greg Brewer, and Jimmie Jones.

Honorary pallbearers include; Jack Hutchins, Ralph Lockard, Roger Buchanan, Dr. Paul Maddox, Albert 'Pop' Cecil, John Cox, and Ryan L. Halsey.
