Emmitt C Payton

Emmitt C. Payton, age 49 years,11 months,3 days passed away at the Hazard ARH, after an extended illness. A son of the late George Wesley Payton Sr. and Geneva Mae Perry Payton Barker. Emmitt was a retired heavy equipment operator with Arch Coal Terminal of Catlettsburg, KY. In his off time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four wheeling. Emmitt loved spending time with his family. He had accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Alice Payton, one brother, Reginald Joe "Gene" Payton, and one nephew, Joshua Dean Payton.  Surviving is his mother, Geneva Barker & stepfather Willie Barker, one daughter, Haley Brook Payton, one son, Emmitt Curtis Payton all of West Liberty, KY. Three grandchildren. Also two sisters, Frances Aileen Perry (Larry) and Eva Mae Elliott (David) all of West Liberty, KY. Two brothers, Robert Dean Payton (Colleen) of Sandy Hook, KY, and George Wesley "Buddy" Payton  Jr (Doshie) of West Liberty, KY. Host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends and other family.

Funeral service will be held 1:30pm, Monday, May 28,2018 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Johnny Dagnan and Bro. Vernon Lewis officiating. Burial in Perry & Payton Cemetery, Dry Branch Rd., West Liberty, KY. Visitation after 12:noon, Monday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.

Pallbearers: Dean Ferguson, Davy Elliott, Wesley Payton, Cameron Fultz, Randy Robinson, Aaron Wright and Billy Hopwood.
