Mary Scurry Obituary

Mary Alice Scurry, age 70, of Jones Creek Road, West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at her home after an illness. She was born July 14, 1947 in Rockhouse, KY, a daughter of the late Ben Adkins and Ethel Marie Montgomery Adkins. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and she enjoyed sharing her home with family and friend. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ella Mae Brittain, six sisters, Mae Williams, Faye Mannon, Edith Whitt, Sue Hawkins, Janet Fannin, Ileen Williams. Two brothers, Charles and Wheeler Adkins.

Surviving is her husband, Danny Scurry, and two sons, Ben Caldwell of West Liberty,KY, and Joseph Wright of Rockhouse,KY. Three grandchildren, Angela Sue Chaffin, Matt Brittain, Danielle Rose Brittain. Special granddaughter, Mattie Fannin. Six brothers, Robert, Russell, Lonnie, Roy, Herbert and Hager Adkins.

Funeral service,11;30am, Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Elder Benny Wright and Elder Jackie Smith officiating. Burial in Scurry & Byrd Cemetery, Jones Creek Road, West Liberty,KY.

Visitation 6:00pm, Monday April 2, 2018 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty,KY. Pallbearers, Joe Vance, David Vance, Hager Adkins, Charles Adkins, Kenny Hill and Rodney B. Adams.
