Robert "Bobby" Whisman

Robert “Bobby” Whisman, age 82, of Hwy 460 W.,West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday at his home after an extended illness. He was born April 9,1937 in Hazel Green, KY a son of James & Fern Jones Whisman. He was a member of Index Community Church, West Liberty, KY. He worked for Chevrolet Garage for 49 years (1959-2008). He was a loving & devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather.

Surviving is his wife Carol Gunnel Whisman, two sons Keith & Brenda Whisman, Chad Whisman all of West Liberty, KY. Five grandchildren, Robbie Whisman, Aaron Whisman, Kelly Whisman, Halley & David Johnston, and Emily Wilson. Two great-grandchildren, Sophie & Asher Johnston. Three sisters Minnie Coffey of Daysboro, KY. Reva Johnson of Hazel Green, KY. Hazel & Lonnie Shefield of London, KY. Two brothers, Bernard Whisman & Denny Whisman both of Hazel Green, KY. Special niece, Karen & Rex Lykins of Morehead, KY. Several other nieces and nephews. Two sisters-in-law, Irene Roe of Middletown, Ohio; Marie & Ray Engle of West Liberty, KY. Four brothers-in-law, Teddy & Rita Gunnel, Bobby Gunnel and Jackie King all of West Liberty, KY, and Bert & Faye Gunnel of Mt. Sterling, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents James & Fern Jones Whisman, two brothers Stanley Whisman & spouse Avanelle,; Jessie Marvin Whisman, one sister Ruth Brown, two infant sisters, and father & mother-in-law, John & Edna Smith Gunnel.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm,Thursday September 26, 2019 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Rev. Mike Frisby and Rev. James Allen officiating. Interment in Engle Cemetery, Yocum Rd,West Liberty, KY. Visitation 6:pm,Wednesday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty,KY. Honorary pallbearers: Former Co-workers.
