Virginia Smith Risner Applegate, age 65 of Owingsville, KY passed away on Tuesday April 3rd, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Hospital following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loved ones and friends as she left this life. Virginia was born on October 27th, 1952 in Morgan County, KY. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Anna Myrtle Smith along with her husband of 16 years, Noah Darrel Risner.Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Vicky and Mark Wright of West Liberty, KY and Vanessa Applegate (Henry Bailey Jr.) of West Liberty, KY. Three grandchildren, Ashley Bryant (Brian Ferguson) of West Liberty, KY. Matthew Tylor Wright (Anastasia Wright) of Valdosta, GA. Laura Bryant (Matthew Mays) of West Liberty, KY. Three great grandchildren, Preslee, Aidan, and Bailee all of West Liberty, KY. Her 4th great grandchild is to be expected in April 2018 . Four step- grandchildren; Heather Bailey, Kimberly Legg, Emilie Bailey and Carrigan Bailey all of West Liberty,KY. She is also survived by two brothers, and two sisters. Jimmy Roger (Pearl Smith), Carl Dean Smith (Bertha Smith), Linda Cantrell, all of West Liberty, KY and Janie Howard (Tom Howard) of Louisa, KY. Along with a close friend, Jon Koref of Owingsville, KY and a host of nieces and nephews.Funeral service 1:00pm, Saturday April 7,2018 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey chapel with Bro.GallardJenkins officiating. Her final resting place will be at Jenkins Cemetery of Rockhouse, KY. Visitation, 10:00am Saturday, Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers will be friends and relatives.
