Alma Francis “Peggy” VanCleave, age 86 of West Liberty, KY passed away Monday January 20, 2025 at her home after a brief illness. Born November 25, 1938 in Charleston, WV. daughter of Leon Skeens and Victoria Rhodes Fields Skeens. She was a member of the Glenn Ave church of God, West Liberty, KY. A loving wife, mother, sister and a loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren, she enjoyed her family and sharing her home with all of her family and friends.

Surviving is her loving husband of 67 years, Rev. Raymond VanCleave, two daughters Sherry Rae & Charlie Sowards, Maschellie Rae Frederick & fiancé Shawn Ferrell. Son Terry VanCleave and Francis Whitt. Six grandchildren; Chucky Sowards (Cassie), Misty Sowder (Chuck), Brittney Harvey (Dustin), Jaycea Frederick & fiancé Braxton, Jenna Frederick, Jon Cody Frederick. Nine great-grandchildren; Jaden Sowards (Keisha), Deven Sowards (Mahala) Emily Sowards (Mike), Will Sowder, Caden Harvey, Colton Harvey, Eli Sowards, Wyatt Sowards, Wade Sowards. One great-great-grandchild Owen Thomas. Three sisters; Sunny & Earl Shamblin, Skeet & Wally Dempsey, Betty & Bob Robbins, One brother, Nicky Skeens. Preceded in death by her parents, Leon Skeens & Victoria Rhodes Fields Skeens. One sister-in-law Norma Skeens.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Friday, January 24,2025 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Rev. Raymond VanCleave, Rev. Sammy VanCleave and Rev. Darrel VanCleave officiating. Burial in the Sowards Cemetery, Ezel, KY. Visitation, 11:00am Friday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY
