Andrew Legg

Andrew Legg, age 67 of West Liberty passed away at ARH after a brief illness on Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Andrew was born April 27, 1956 in West Liberty, KY to the late Willard and Dorothy Arlene Hall Legg. He was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Legg, a nephew, Jamey Allen Legg, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rolla and Maxie Fannin.

Andrew was married to the love of his life, Martha Jane Fannin Legg on November 25, 1974. To this marriage they were blessed with two children, Andrea Dawn Aragon and Andy Ryan Legg.

Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Martha Legg. One daughter, Andrea Aragon and John, and one son, Andy Legg and Sarah Beth, and three grandsons Andrew John “A.J.” Aragon, Ryan Legg, and Jaxon Legg, all of West Liberty. Also surviving, his sister, Bonnie and Johnny Perry of West Liberty and special niece and nephew, Shamarie Carter, and Johnny Perry Jr, and Jody, of Georgetown. Andrew is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marshall and Diana Fannin of Tomahawk, and two special nieces, Chelsea Fannin Gamble of Salyersville and Rana and Brad Pack of Inez.

Andrew was known for his basketball skills during high school. These skills followed him throughout his life. Everyone knew how good he was and always talked about his skill and love of the sport and how he helped them. His love of sports lived on through his grandsons. He loved nothing more than spending days watching his grandsons play different sports. If he was not watching them play, he was sitting around watching sports on television and talking about them with his grandsons.

Andrew was an active member of the Headwaters Bass Club, where he was the club president for many years. Everyone who knew Drew knew how much he loved fishing. He enjoyed nothing more than traveling around with the best fishing partner around, his wife, Martha. His love of fishing was known by everyone.

Andrew attended Wells Union Church, as long as his health allowed.

Funeral services will be held at the Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Sunday September 17, 2023 with Bro. Jimmy Tharp officiating. Eternal resting place will be at West Liberty Memorial Garden. Visitation starts at 6:00 PM Saturday September 16, 2023 at the Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. 

Pallbearers: John Aragon, A.J. Aragon, Andy Legg, Ryan Legg, Marshall Fannin, Johnnie Cantrell, Keith Barker, Jackie Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers: Jaxon Legg, Johnny Perry, Jr., Charlie Perry, Perry Cantrell, Mark Arnett, Johnny Perry, and Headwaters Bass Club.
