Angela Caldwell Obituary

Angela Renee Caldwell or “Gran Gran” to so many of us completed the dash that lies between her birth on April 7, 1963 and death on March 2, 2023 at the young age of 59. Angela gave all and donated even her organs to those she would never meet - a truly altruistic act - and will live on long past her time on earth. Although her gift of organ donation would go to complete “strangers”, there is a higher likelihood that she has met them somewhere on her journey here on earth as she knew no stranger. Her smile and laughter were contagious and pulled you in, leaving you wondering if maybe you had known her your whole life. Angela was never in a hurry and would most assuredly be late for most events - to no avail, she even set her clock 10 minutes ahead. The exception to this rule would be in the event of a big sale. It didn’t matter if she needed the item, she knew she eventually would and she was usually right. Angela would continuously be delivering gifts and celebrating those around her and loved telling about the deal she got. Angela loved swimming, reading, hosting, helping, nurturing, cheerleading and was a huge UK and Cincinnati Bengals supporter. She loved her family and Jesus above all. Her favorite bible verse was Mark 9:23-24, “Lord I believe; help my disbelief.” She used this verse to relate to people in a variety of places on their personal journey with Christ. Angela’s “dash” between birth and death was not long enough but was exemplary by the positive influence she had on those who were fortunate enough to have called her wife, daughter, mom, gran gran, aunt, and friend. She will be missed, but not forgotten. We will see her when the hydrangeas bloom in the summer. We will hear her at the next party or shower we attend. We will feel her at our next church service. We will remember her gracious heart when we see someone in need. We will cherish the very fact that God chose us all to be part of this amazing woman’s life. As a librarian, books were one of Angela’s biggest passions so we will conclude with a quote from her favorite book Same Kind of Different as Me: “I used to spend a lotta time worrying that I was different from other people, even from other homeless folks. Then, after I met Miss Debbie and Mr. Ron, I worried that I was so different from them that we wadn’t ever gon’ have no kind a’ future. But I found out everybody’s different - the same kind of different as me. We’re all just regular folks walking down the road God done set in front of us. The truth about it is, whether we is rich or poor or something in between, this earth ain’t no final restin place. So in a way, we is all homeless - just workin our way toward home….” Because of her passion for books and children, in lieu of flowers, donations of new books can be made to the child life program to give to children across Kentucky who visit Kentucky Children’s Hospital via the wishlist found on the Kentucky Children’s Hospital Amazon Wishlist: https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/1QJUHKOJUILUS
