Barbara June (Smith) Lewis

Barbara June Smith Lewis, 88, lives on Hickory Road in West Liberty, KY. She departed this life on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in St. Joseph Hospital, Mt. Sterling, KY, after an illness. Born October 29, 1937, in Middletown, Ohio, daughter of Harrison and Grace Swafford Smith.

Barbara was a longtime member of the Lick Fork Pentecostal Church, Rt. 7, West Liberty, KY, and a loving wife to her late husband George Lewis, who died on September 29, 2017. She was a loving mother to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and many friends. Her parents, husband, two brothers, Elbert & his wife Charlene Smith and Thomas Smith, and grandson Geordan Conn all preceded her in death.

Two daughters, Angela (Byrul) Lewis of West Liberty, Kentucky, and Tanya (Robbie) Conn of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, and son Billy Lee (Veda) Lewis of West Liberty, KY. Nine grandchildren: JoAnna Oldfield, LaJeanna Young, Sabrina Gaspar, Evan Lewis, Amy Wright, Kendria Carty, Jonah Conn, Jayden Conn, Jared Conn. Sixteen great-grandchildren: Kynleigh Conn, Harper Conn, Mason Carty, Maylee Carty, Maybree Carty, Byrnlee Conn, Jaxson Conn, Clarke Young, Grant Gaspar, Griffin Gaspar, Garrett Gaspar, Landon Lewis, Garrison Lewis, Kainon Lewis, Austin Wright, and Aaliyah Wright (and 4 adopted grandchildren and 3 adopted great-grandchildren). One sister: Rhonda (Arnold) Fugate. Special friend, Carol Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel, with Bro. Robbie Conn and Bro. Johnny Dagnan giving the family and friends words of comfort. Interment in the Arthur Lewis Cemetery, Hwy 519, West Liberty, KY. Visitation: 11:30am Sunday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.
