Bro. Russell Legg

Bro. Russell Legg, age 86, of Buckner Branch Road, West Liberty, KY passed away Monday, September 14,2020 at the Elliott County Nursing Home, Sandy Hook, KY after an extended illness. Russell was born October 26, 1933 in West Liberty, KY to the late Robert (Bobby) Legg and Della Bradley Legg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years Polly May Cantrell Legg. Two infant sons, Dean and Emerson Legg. Four brothers and sisters-in law; Herman & Nellie Legg, Willard & Dorothy Legg, Vernal ‘Dick’ & Jane Legg and Edison & Delphia Legg. Two sisters & one brother-in-law, Flossie & James H. Robbins, Stella Pack. Russell was a Baptist Minister with 55 years of service to the Lord and the last founding member of the Ophir Enterprise Baptist Church. The place he called home since August 11,1972.

Surviving is three daughters, Patricia & Ronnie Wright, Resa & Lindon Wheeler and Martha & Mark Williams all of West Liberty, KY. One sister Fern Hill of Piqua, Ohio.(6) grandchildren and (11) great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, September 16,2020 at Ophir Enterprise Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Fultz, Bro. Barry Gilliam and Bro. Lonnie B. Wright officiating. Visitation will be 11:am, Wednesday at the Ophir Enterprise Baptist Church, Ophir, KY. Interment in Robbins Cemetery, Ophir, KY. Pallbearers will be grandsons and family. Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.

COVID-19 regulations will be followed as set forth by Governor Beshear and the CDC. The family request that visitors respect their desire to keep everyone safe by practicing social distancing guidelines and to wear a face covering of some sort.
