Captain Nicholas Clayton Clevenger, of Ezel, Kentucky tragically passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the tender age of 28 years, 10 months and 9 days. Nicholas was born April 14th, 1996 in Brown County, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents Jon and Loudema Clevenger, Maternal Grandmother, Carol Vogel, Aunt Vickie Trodglen and Father-in-Law Lonne Woody.
Nicholas leaves to mourn his parents, Brandi and Shawn Clevenger of Wellington, KY, his Paternal Grandfather, Rudi (Gayle) Vogel, his wife Nelli Clevenger also of Ezel, Kentucky and the absolute loves of his life, his 2 sons Gabriel and Michael Clevenger. He is also survived by Uncles and Aunts, Rudi (Cheryl) Vogel, Clearfield, Kentucky, Judi Marks, Maysville, Kentucky, Lisa Vogel, Russellville, Ohio, Sherri (Matt) Neu, Russellville, Ohio, Jennifer (Glenn) Fisher, Russellville, Ohio, Angie (Jeff) Griffin, Mt. Orab, Ohio, Melinda Kimmell, North Logan, Utah, Sara Feck, Ashland, Kentucky, Loretta Gorham, North Carolina, many cousins who were more like siblings and a host of friends and co-workers who became a second family to Nicholas.
Nicholas proudly served the Kentucky Department of Corrections at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex as a Captain. He was a mentor to many and a friend to all during his tenure there, everyone loved "Clev". When not at work, Nicholas loved to spend his free time with his family, especially his treasured sons.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Saturday March 1,2025 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Pastor Tony Watson and speaker James Whitt officiating. Visitation, Friday February 28, 2025 at 6:30pm at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.
