Carmie Christine (Watkins) Lewis

Carmie Christine Watkins Lewis, age 69, of West Liberty, KY, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2026, in the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY, after an illness. She was born February 8, 1956, in West Liberty, KY, daughter of Seldon Greene Watkins & Lucy Francis Lewis Watkins. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Surviving are her husband, Phillip Lewis, and her children, Tina Lewis Frisby (Brian), Phillip Jason Lewis, Derick Lewis (Gina Vance), and Christopher Brandon Lewis, all of West Liberty, KY; and one sister, Joy Chappell (Hardie) of Hyden, KY. 

Nine grandchildren: Autumn Tackett, Blake Keeton, Desiree Hunley, Dillon Gevedon, Kashton Frisby, Tatum Lewis, Jaxson Frisby, Thea Frisby, and Axl Frisby. Two great-grandchildren: Mali Brae Gevedon & Bennett Blaire Tackett. Host of nieces, nephews, and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Seldon Greene Watkins & Lucy Francis Lewis Watkins. One son, Corey Patrick Lewis. Siblings: Etta Jane Henry (James Bill Henry), Minnie Patterson (‘Bo’ Patterson,) Nellie Sue Fox, Judy Gaston (Edward Gaston), Alma Watkins, Henry Clay Watkins, Johnny Watkins, Roy Junior Watkins, and Laverne Lee Watkins.

The funeral service will be at 1:00pm Friday, February 13, 2026, at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel, with Bro. Vernon Lewis and Bro. Phillip Ferguson officiating. Interment in the William H. Lewis Cemetery, West Liberty, KY.

Visitation is at 11:30 pm on Friday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.
