Clara Jean Gevedon Jackson, age 88 years and 222 days, passed away on Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022. Clara was cared for and a resident of the West Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the West Liberty KY.
Clara was the daughter of the late Henry Delbert Gevedon and Ida Pearl Byrd Gevedon. Clara was a devoted Christian, mother, friend and caretaker, who gave it her all to whatever she set her mind to. In addition to Clara’s parents, preceding her in death were two sons, Delbert Carl Jackson and Mark “Hobo” Jackson and her brother, Glenn Gevedon and her former husband Franklin Jackson.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Jackson Sr. and David Jackson (Kelly), daughter-in-law, Pam Jackson, three granddaughters, Jen Jackson Weber (Paul), Joni Jackson Cook (Michael) and Sara Jackson Rome, and one grandson, Jerry Jackson Jr. (Stacy). Clara also leaves behind three great granddaughters, Bronwyn Weber, Swayze Rome, and Poppy Rome and three great grandsons, Elijah Jackson, River Rome, Rowan Weber, and a fourth great grandson due in August, Jerry Jackson, III (Trey). Clara is also survived by her sister, Brenda Gevedon Jones, sister-in-law, Lenora Gevedon, and several nieces. Special brother-in-law Jimmie Jones, Special neighbor, Reva Johnson.
Clara was skilled and enjoyed working on the farm, much like her father before her. Clara was a devoted follower of Bluegrass music and helped organize the country store during the Sorghum Festival in West Liberty. Clara most cherished doting on her sons and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm,Friday, April 15,2022 in Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Kenny Gevedon officiating. Burial in Jackson Family Cemetery, Mize, KY. Visitation will be 6:00pm Thursday in Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY Pallbearers are friends and relatives.
