Darrell Clifford Lyons, 85, of Warrensburg, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on February 19th, 2021. He was at his home with his loving wife, Reva.
Darrell Clifford was born on October 8th, 1935 in Crockett, KY of Morgan County. He was the son of Sherman Lyons and Louanna Hutchinson Lyons. Clifford was married to Reva Cantrell on April 13th they would have been married 64 years. He worked as a machinist in Piqua, Ohio but his love for cars led him into a long and successful hobby fixing and selling cars. In 1986 they moved from Flatwoods, KY to Missouri to be close to family. Clifford was a member of Ironville Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years, and recalled the day he was saved as the most important day of his life.
Clifford was always smiling and he loved practical jokes. He was devoted to his family and spent a lot of his time with his only grand-daughter, Miranda. He loved gardening, and took great pride in his home, especially the yard. Clifford had a passion for people and a five-minute trip would frequently turn into hours, because he would meet “friends” along the way! Always visiting family and friends, he acquired many nicknames including Kick, Dobbins, and Big Shorty.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Reva Lyons, daughter, Kim Tackett, son-in-law, Darrell Tackett, grand-daughter, Miranda Tackett, and great-grandson, Ezra Lee. Host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Clifford is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman & Louanna Hutchinson Lyons, daughter, Sherry Lynn Lyons, and sisters, Lorene Lyons May and Maxine Lyons Mason.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 24,2021 at 1:00pm at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Roger Ball officiating. Visitation will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday at funeral home chapel. Burial will follow the funeral at Fannin Cemetery, Crockett, KY. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers are relatives and friends.
