Douglas Stamper Obituary

Douglas Stamper, age 82, of West Liberty, KY, departed this life on Thursday, July 23, 2026, in St. Clair Hospital, Morehead, KY, after an extended illness. Born in UZ, KY (Letcher Co., KY,) on September 28, 1943, son of the late Fred Stamper and Lovel Cornet Stamper. He attended the Primitive Baptist Church and was a retired Morgan County school teacher.


Surviving him are his wife of 62 years, Glinna Benton Stamper, and son, Torrence Douglas Stamper. Foster brothers Paul Craft, Issac Craft, and Dennis Robinson and foster sister Angela Jackson.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Stamper and Lovel Cornet Stamper; two sisters, Eva Jean and Geraldine; and five brothers, Charles, Joe, Wayne, Bill, and Ken. Also his foster parents Wardie & Hazel Craft.


Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Elder Rick Howard with a message of comfort to the family and friends. Interment in the South Fork Cemetery, Malone, KY. Visitation: 11:00 am, Monday, at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.


Pallbearers: Pat Seibeniller, Marcus Morey, Shane Brookshire, Joe Sendelbach, John Cintron, John Johnston, Jerry Swiney.
