Edith Pearl Blackburn of West Liberty KY, passed away June 22, 2022 at the age of 87. She was born at Hi Hat, KY on January 13, 1935. A daughter of the late Estill & Rosa Henson Newsome. Pearl was united in marriage to her first husband., Andrew Barnett Jr. (8/20/1955) to this union a daughter Sevilla Sue was born after his death, she married Paul Edward Blackburn, to this union a son Stacy Edwin Blackburn was born.

Pearl had a long career in nursing. She started as an aide in Prestonsburg, KY at the age of 18. She went to training and became LPN and worked for nine years at McDowell ARH and four years Wise ARH in Virginia. She went on to further her education in nursing at Harlan ARH and became a registered nurse and came to Morgan County ARH in 1973. She was director in nursing for 22 years. A total of 35 years with ARH. She was a member of Bethany Enterprise Baptist Church at War Creek, KY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Buretta Newsome, her first husband, Andrew Barnett Jr., second husband Paul Edward Blackburn.

Survivors include one daughter, Sevilla Sue (Dean) Bradley of Ocala, Florida. One son Stacy Edwin Blackburn of North Carolina. Special granddaughter, Holly Ann (David) O’Quinn of Ezel, KY. Six grandchildren Kayla & Kimberly Bradley, Stacia, Joseph, Abigail, Gabriele Blackburn. Five great grandchildren, Elijah & Jonah O’Quinn, Riley Richmond, Araina & Shiloh Conway.

Funeral Services will be conducted at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel at 12 Noon, Saturday June 25, 2022 with Bro. Rick Pelfrey, Bro. Bob Williams & Tracy Hatton officiating. Burial will follow at the Davidson Memorial Gardens Ivel, KY. Visitation start 6;30pm, Friday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral home, West Liberty, KY.

Pallbearers David O’Quinn, David Ison, Scotty Hamilton, Eli O’Quinn, Jonah O’Quinn, Jimmy Cantrell, Ollie Riggsby and Marvin Cole.
