Edward Franklin Gilliam, 84, of Elkfork, KY, was born August 30th, 1941, and departed this earth on March 9th, 2026. He was united in marriage to Sarah Florence Ball Gilliam on September 2, 1961. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior on December 30th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents Hazel Ison Gilliam and James Nelson Gilliam. One infant daughter, Glenna Gilliam; two brothers, James Paris Gilliam and Wendell Lee Gilliam.
One sister Rosemary Johnson.
Survivors include his loving wife Sarah Florence Ball Gilliam; two daughters Kathy & Anthony Haney of Cannel City, KY, and Beverly & Johnny Cantrell of West Liberty, KY; one son Thomas Edward Gilliam; and Justin Gilliam of West Liberty, KY; two grandsons Katlin & Lauren Haney of Cannel City and Joshua & LaShea Cantrell of West Liberty, KY; and one great-granddaughter Jenny Lynn Cantrell. Five brothers: Elmer Gene Gilliam; William Paul & Beverly Gilliam; Rufus and Connie Gilliam; Danny & Lora Gilliam; and Donnie & Patty Gilliam, all of West Liberty, KY. Three sisters, Geneva Gamble, Elizabeth Gilliam, and Alberta Cantrell, all of West Liberty, KY. Host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm, Friday, March 13, 2026, at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Elder Jackie Smith and Elder Roger Dean Ball speaking words of comfort to the family. Burial in the Ison Cemetery, Green Briar Rd., Crockett, KY. Visitation, 6:00pm, Thursday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers are friends and relatives.
