Ernie Gene Gilliam

Ernie Gene Gilliam, age 74 of Hwy 711,West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 in the St.Claire Medical Center,Morehead,KY after an extended illness. Ernie was born February 13,1945 in Troy,Ohio to the late Earl Jonathan and Drusilla Ferguson Gilliam. At the time of his death, he was 74 years, 10 months, and 28 days He was a member of the Neal Howard Creek Church,Sandy Hook,KY. He was a retired Surface mine foreman, and a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Jonathan & Drusilla Ferguson Gilliam, his first wife, Jeanette Muse Gilliam, two daughters, Bonnie Lue and Debbria Jean Gilliam, one great-grandson, Oryk Baker, and two sisters, Brenda and Minnie Gilliam.

Surviving is his wife, Betty Johnson Gilliam of Hwy 711, West Liberty,KY. Three daughters, Margie Gilliam of Piqua,Ohio, Pamela Irene (Jack) Lewis of Sandy Hook, KY, and Sharon Deaton of Huber Heights,Ohio. Two sons, Ernie Gilliam of Columbus,Ohio, and Ronald Gilliam of Huber Heights,Ohio. One step daughter, Pamela (John) Wheeler of West Liberty,KY, and two stepsons, Timmy (Lisa) Conley of Sandy Hook, KY and Robert Conley of Hazel Green, KY. Fifteen grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 7 step-great-grandchildren. Four brothers, David Gilliam of West Liberty, KY, Avery (Marilyn) Gilliam of Chillicothe,Ohio, Jerry Gilliam of Springfield,Ohio and Elbert (Tammy) Gilliam of St.Paris, Ohio. Six sisters, Joyce Kaufhold of West Liberty,KY, Mattie (Gary) Moore of Florida, Delores Gilliam of Springfield, Ohio, Penny (Rod) Urton of Columbus,Ohio, Ella Thompson of Piqua, and Sherry (Brent) Roberts of Springfield, Ohio.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm,Wednesday, January 15,2020 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Dean Lewis and Bro. Garry Ferguson officiating. Burial in Muses Mills Cemetery, Flemingsburg, Kentucky. Visitation will be 6:00pm, Tuesday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers: Anthony Lewis, Michael Lewis, Timmy Conley, Dennis Oliver, Jason Litton, and Donnie Lewis.
