Eva Irene (Benton) Bailey

Eva Irene Benton Bailey, West Liberty, KY passed away Tuesday, June 11,2024 at the age of 91 years,8 months. Born to Curt and Sada Franklin Benton on October 15th, 1932, in Caney, KY. She was the 9th child of 13. She was the widow of Charles C. Bailey, whom she wed on April 23, 1953, married for 36 years and 38 days when he passed on May 31,1989. To this union three children were born, Charles Wayne, Linda Carol and Richard Lee. She graduated from Cannel City High School in 1950. She worked on the farm alongside her husband Charles, a factory worker 17 years, high school cafeteria for 10 years. Still working at age 80, as she was a people person.

She was a God loving Christian women, being a mother, wife, and providing a good Christian home were always priorities. Nurse to many extended family members. Gifted many baby blankets that she had crocheted.

Surviving are her three children, Charles Wayne and Linda Bailey, Linda Carol and Phillip Kennard, and Richard Lee & Linda Bailey. Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curt & Sada Franklin Benton, her husband Charles C. Bailey, all her siblings, Ruth Barker, Marietta Taulbee, Reva Mondragon, Pearl Bowlin, Clifton Benton, Lena Perkins, Jewel Helton, John Paul Benton, and four siblings who passed in childhood.

Funeral services, 1:00pm, Friday June 14,2024 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Rev. Mike Frisby and Rev. Karl Elam officiating. Interment in Curt Benton Cemetery, Caney, KY. Visitation, 11:00am, Friday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral home, West Liberty, KY.

Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
