Eva Jane (Murphy) Lane

Eva Jane Murphy Lane of Ezel, KY passed away at her home on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the age of 102. She was born on June 11, 1922 in Hazel Green, KY. Jane was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a life time member of Pine Grove Community Church, always a faithful servant of God, and always doing the work of her Lord.

She was the daughter of William (Bill) Murphy and Maggie Reed Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Reed Murphy, her husband, Joe H. Lane, her son, William Garrett Lane, her son-in-law, Junior Ray Montgomery, and one grandson Adam Montgomery.

Survivors includes, her daughter, Betty Jo Lane Montgomery, her son, Jerry Lane (Gwenda), her daughter-in-law, Lauretta Lane. Four grandchildren, Allen Lane (Johnna), Darren Montgomery (Katrina), Melissa Hunt, James Garrett Lane (Shelley). Eight great-grandchildren; Joe Allen Lane (Caroline), Ben Montgomery (Emily), Josh Lane, Lara Flynn (Colby), Haley Jane Rice (Ollie), Karey Lane, Kaci Montgomery, Will Lane. Four great-great-grandchildren: Garrett Lane, Wyatt Lane, Janna Montgomery, Josie Rice. Caretakers Joe Allen and Caroline.

The family would like to take this time to thank and honor her faithful caretakers, Joe Allen, who carried her loving, so may times, rather than risk her falling and especially Caroline who attended to so many of her needs and never left her side. We are forever grateful.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at the Pine Grove Community Church, Ezel, Ky with Bro. Quentin Murphy officiating. Burial in Murphy Cemetery, Ezel, KY. Visitation, 11:am Tuesday May 13, 2025 at Pine Grove Community Church, 4000 Hwy 882, Ezel, KY. Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers will be grandson and great-grandsons.
