Floetta (Ison) Fraley October 29, 1944 – January 28, 2026

Floetta (Ison) Fraley, 81, of West Liberty, Kentucky, passed away at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead on January 28, 2026, leaving a void her family can never truly fill.

Born in Paintsville in 1944 to the late Callis and Cynthia Angeline (Holbrook) Ison, Floetta was a woman of remarkable strength and dedication. While working 40 hours a week and raising her four children with her husband, Dearl, she successfully completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She served her community as a registered nurse at the West Liberty Appalachian Regional Hospital and in-home health services until her retirement.

Floetta accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized in 1960. Her children—Edward, Cynthia, Christopher, and Callie—were her pride and joy, and she was always happiest when they were by her side. She expressed her love through countless "little things," ensuring everyone who entered her home was well-fed, comfortable, and greeted with a hug around the neck. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart; she never missed a birthday without sending a thoughtful card or gift.

A pillar of her extended family, Floetta spent many years facilitating the annual Ison family reunion. She worked tirelessly to ensure there was always plenty of food, games, and gifts for everyone to enjoy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Callis and Angie Ison; her husband, Dearl Fraley; her sister, Carlene Wallace; and her brothers-in-law, Tommy Wallace and Johnny Mays.

She is survived by her four children: Darrell Edward (Michelle) Fraley, Cynthia Ann (Jimmy) Montgomery, Christopher Bryan (Ida) Fraley, and Callie Rebecca (Derek) Miller. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren: Chelsey, Aly, John, Wes, Courtney, Brandon, Tera, Brady, Katelyn, Kenzie, and Katrina; eleven great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Thomas, Finn, Forrest, Jaycee, Walker, Kaysn, Mason, Ryder, Remi, and Rush; her sister, Cheryl Mays; and her brother, Phillip (Nancy) Ison.

Service Information: Visitation will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Herald, Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home in West Liberty, with family receiving guests at 5:00 PM and public visitation beginning at 6:00 PM. The funeral service will take place Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with Elders Joey Ferguson, Ricky Keaton, and James Wallin presiding. Music will be provided by Angela Ferguson and Joey Ferguson.

Floetta will be laid to rest at the Ison Cemetery in Moon, Kentucky. Pallbearers: Darrell Edward Fraley, Jimmy Montgomery, John Montgomery, Wes Montgomery, Chris Fraley, Brandon Fraley, Derek Miller, and Brady Miller.
