Glenna Pearl (Sherman) Burks

Glenna Pearl Sherman Burks, of Bolin Branch Rd, West Liberty, Kentucky passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at her home after an extended illness at the age of 95. She was born March 28, 1923 in Victor,Idaho to the Pleasant Monroe Sherman and Aretha Minerva Cheney Sherman. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Bethany Enterprise Baptist Church,War Creek, KY. She was a loving wife,mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Chester Opil Burks, two sons Elisha Monroe Burks & Chester Eugne Burks and four sisters.

Surviving is nine daughters Dorthy Johnson of West Liberty, KY, Pauline Spicer of Texas, Janette Bushong, Kathleen Allred, Patricia Richardson, Joann Stoddard, Carol Lee Wright all of West Liberty, KY. Jennifer Hamm of Owingsville, KY and Rebecca Holbrook of Elkfork,KY . Four sons, Kenneth Burke of McKee, KY. Fred Burkes, James Michael Burkes, Benjamin Burks all of West Liberty, KY. One brother Emmil Monroe Sherman of Preston, Idaho, also  45 grandchildren, 98 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1:pm,Thursday March 14,2019 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Bob Williams officiating. Burial in Johnson & Burks Cemetery of Ferguson Branch, West Liberty, KY. Visitation will be 10:am Thursday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers: Daniel Burks, Joshua Burks, James Allred, Joey Whitt, Jimmy Allred, Keith Allred, Bobby Allred, Benjamin Burks.
