Gloria Williams Obituary

Gloria Faith Terrill Williams of Pretty Run Road, Winchester, KY and formerly of Campton, KY passed away at The Willows at Lexington, September 24th after an extended illness. She was born October 16,1940 in Lexington, KY, to Ruby and Timothy Terrill. She was a member of the Franklin Ave. Church of the Living God, Winchester, KY.

Gloria was a registered nurse. She trained at Miners Memorial Hospital School of Practical Nursing at Harlan, KY. She began her nursing career at the Maddox Clinic, Campton, KY in 1960. The family later moved to Letcher County where she taught Health Careers at the Letcher County Vocational School for several years. She then transferred to Hazard Vocational School where she taught LPN classes. She later became the Supervisor of nursing at Daniel Boone Clinic in Whitesburg. She retired after working at Clark County Health Department in Winchester, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents Timothy & Ruby Mendenhall Terrill. Two brothers James Arthur Terrill and Arthur Richard Terrill.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Lavone Williams. Two daughters Brenda (Dan) Considine of Winchester, Theresa (Jimmie) Jones of West Liberty. Two sisters: Margaret Clere (Ralph) of Ashland and Dorothy Eaton (Rob) of Prospect. Three grandsons: David Johnston (Halley), McCaul Considine (Jordan Huntzinger),Court Considine. Two step-granddaughters: Jennifer Jones, Susan Thompson. Two step-great grandchildren: Tara (Justin) Harris, Chance Thompson, five great-grandchildren: Sophie, Oaklynn, Callahan, Jackson, Asher.

Graveside services will be 1:00pm, Sunday, September 27,2020 at Evans Cemetery, Campton, KY, with Pastor Mike Smith and Pastor John Hughes officiating with interment in the Evans Cemetery, Campton, KY. Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers: McCaul Considine, Court Considine, David Johnston, Dan Considine, Charles Williams, Jake Goff.

COVID-19 regulations will be followed as set forth by Governor Beshear and the CDC. The family request that visitors respect their desire to keep everyone safe by practicing social distancing guidelines and to wear a face covering of some sort.
