Hearl Gambill, age, 73 of Liberty Road in West Liberty, Ky passed away Tuesday February 13th, 2024, in Hazard, Ky.

Hearl was born May 19th, 1950, in Morgan County, Ky son of the late Hobert and Dorothy Smith Gambill.

Hearl was a retired former blacktop paving foreman and coal truck driver. He was known to his coworkers as “Hill climber.” He accepted the Lord Jesus as his savior and was a member of the Index Community Church.

He enjoyed reading his bible and tinkering in his garage. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Hearl was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Dorothy Smith Gambill. Three sisters Correne Sparks, Ruie Litteral, and Phyllis Parks. One infant Brother Harold Gambill. Son in Law Frederick Micah Wilson. His Father and mother-in-law Walter and Doshie Wright. Two brother-in-laws Harold and Hearl Wright.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years Carol Wright Gambill of West Liberty, Ky. One Daughter Brenda Wilson Whisman (Keith). One Son Anthony Gambill of West Liberty, Ky. Three Granddaughters Halley Carolyn Johnston (David) and Emily Mikka Wilson Webb (Jared) of Winchester, Ky. Kelly Dawn Whisman (Brandon) of Richmond, Ky. Two Grandsons Robert Clay Whisman of Lexington, Ky and Aaron Keith Whisman (Althea) of Richmond, Ky. One great granddaughter Sophie Grace Johnston. Two great grandsons Asher Michael Johnston and Colin James Johnston. Two sisters, Gracie Ferguson and Tammy Gambill.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday February 16th at 2:00 pm at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Frisby and Rev. Ronnie Wright officiating.

A burial will follow in the Lacey Cemetery on Hwy 437 West Liberty, Ky.

Visitation from 11:30 am to 2 pm, Friday February 16th, 2024, at Herald Stewart and Halsey Funeral Home in West Liberty, Ky

Pallbearers: Ronnie Wright, Johnnie Wright, Donnie Wright, Glenn Hance, Keith Whisman, and Keith Sherman.
