Herman 'Blackie' Smith

Herman 'Blackie' Smith, 72, of Grassy Creek, KY, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at home after an extended illness. Born in West Liberty, KY, on August 1, 1951, to Reed Smith and Cindy Perkins Smith. He was a member of Wells Chapel Church, Hwy 844, Stacy Fork,KY. He was a construction worker in the strip mines.

Surviving is his fiancee, Sheila Stacy, and children Jennifer Stacy, Crystal Sharpe, Eddie Wayne Stacy, and Jason Stacy. Four brothers, Ronald & Emily Smith, Jim & Donna Smith, Sherman & Reita Smith, and Hershell & Lita Smith. Eleven grandchildren Cheyanne, Syndee, Grayson, Brayden, Katelyn, Landon, Brianna, Bradlee, Ava, Kahlan, and Alia. Preceded in death by his parents, Reed and Cindy Perkins Smith, sister, Christine Tyler, and brother, Grover Smith.
