James Chris Chaney

James Chris Chaney, age 65, of West Liberty, KY passed away Monday,January 18,2021 in the St. Claire Medical Center, Morehead,KY after a brief illness. Born in Pikeville,KY on November 11,1955 to the late Thomas and Pricey Thacker Chaney. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted Chaney and Curtis Chaney and tow sisters Avonelle Bartley and Glendine Bates. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized in the Baptist faith many years ago. He was a local business owner of 460 Trailer Sales of West Liberty.

He is survived by his companion Barbara Charles of West Liberty,KY. One son Terry Chaney of Flint, Michigan. Three grandsons, Nathan Ritter of Orlando,Fl., Gavin Chaney and Griffin Lakey of Flint, Michigan, one granddaughter, Ava Chaney of Flint,Michigan, One special nephew, Jessie Stidham of Denniston,KY. One sister Garnell Keen of Pikeville,KY. Special friends, Crystal & Eric Byrd and children, whom he loved as his own (Charlie and Shelby).

Funeral services will be held 7: p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Ray Fallen officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Visitation will be 6:pm Wednesday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers will be friends and relatives.

COVID-19 mandate/regulations will be followed as set forth by Governor Beshear and the CDC. The family request that visitors respect their desire to keep everyone safe by practicing social distancing guidelines and to wear a face covering of some sort.
