Janet Marie Adams Vest of West Liberty, Kentucky, departed this life on November 17, 2022, at ARH Regional Medical Center, Hazard, Kentucky. She was 83. Janet was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, immensely loved by those who truly knew her. She was a West Liberty Church of God member and adored her church family as they adored her. Janet was one of the most humble people to ever walk this Earth. She appreciated even the smallest gestures of kindness and returned them in kind. She was also endearingly quick-witted and funny, a fantastic cook, lover of a good Bluegrass tune, and innately compassionate. Though Janet’s life appeared simple, living it had been anything but simple or easy. She endured trials and tribulations beyond telling, yet she never lost faith in God or hope for a better day filled with the love she so richly deserved. Our loss is heaven’s gain was never a truer statement.
Janet was born in Malone, Kentucky on May 13,1939 and will be laid to rest at the South Fork Cemetery in Malone.
She was preceded in death by her parents Orville “Bodine” and Hannah Ann Hamilton Adams, two half-brothers, Lloyd Junior and John Edward Smith, and brother-in-law, Norvin “Shorty” Terry.
