Jerry Gale Ferguson

Jerry Gale Ferguson was called to his Heavenly home by Jesus at 1:30 p.m. from his earthly home at Straight Creek, KY in Morgan County on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 17 days old. He was born on January 3, 1952 at Paintsville, KY. He was the son of the late Lowell & Erma (Skaggs) Ferguson.

Jerry grew up at Moon, KY in Morgan County. He graduated from Morgan County High School. Jerry was a former construction worker, electrician & heavy equipment operator before becoming disabled. Jerry accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. He was a member of Open Fork United Baptist Church at Moon, KY. He also attended Straight Creek Enterprise Baptist Church at Straight Creek, KY.

Jerry married Penny Ann Johnson on January 31, 1992 at West Liberty, KY & they were blessed with 33 years of marriage at the time of his passing. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle & grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends & his grandchildren. His warm smile and sense of humor was enjoyed by all that knew him. He was a true testament of the Lord which he proclaimed to all throughout his life. Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents, Lowell & Erma (Skaggs) Ferguson & 2 brothers, Gary Dale Ferguson & Anthony Lee Ferguson & 1 infant grandson.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Penny Ann (Johnson) Ferguson of Straight Creek, KY; his daughter, Megan Marie Hope (Ferguson) Adkins & her husband, Corey of Moon, KY; his son, Jeremy Chad Ferguson & his wife, Andrea of Fairborn, OH; his stepson, Scotty Adkins & his wife, Michelle, of Ezel, KY; his 3 granddaughters, Haley Ferguson, Kinsley Ferguson & Blakely Ferguson of Fairborn, OH; his 4 grandsons, Hunter Blake Adkins, Jeremiah Scott Adkins, Edison Lowell Adkins & Gregory Logan Blaine Adkins all of Moon, KY; 1 brother, Joey Ferguson & his wife, Charlene of Moon, KY; 1 sister, Angela Ferguson & her husband, Emerson of Moon, KY, as well as many nieces & nephews.

Funeral visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home at West Liberty, KY. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home at West Liberty, KY with Rev. James Wallin & Brother Joey Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Anthony Ison Cemetery on Highway 1715 at Moon, KY in Morgan County.
