Jerry Dale Murphy

   Jerry Dale Murphy, age 82, of Ezel, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, Kentucky. He was born in Ezel to the late Boyd Herbert and Devona Murphy on November 7,1938 in Ezel, Kentucky. He was a member of the Ezel United Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Stratton Murphy, of Ezel, KY; three children, Jerry Allen Murphy (Bridget) of Ezel, KY; Mary Gim Norfleet (Henry) of Cynthiana, KY, and Calvin Dale Murphy (Jill) of Georgetown, KY; six grandchildren, Cory Murphy (Ashley) of Eldorado, IL, Andrew Norfleet, Sarah Norfleet, Matthew Norfleet, Hannah Norfleet of Cynthiana, KY, and Serena Nowlin-Murphy of Georgetown, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents Boyd Herbert and Devona Wittenhagen Murphy and in-laws Ray and Virgie Stratton.

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, January 4th. 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro.Keith McGuire officiating . Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.  Interment will be in the Ezel Cemetery, Ezel,KY.

Active pallbearers are; JC Stamper, Delbert Coffey, Al Justice, Jerry Lane, John Stamper, and Chad Ross. Honorary pallbearers are; Virgil Cole, Bill Roach, and John Underwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ezel Cemetery, c/o Virgil Cole, 220 Butternut Lane, Frenchburg, KY 40322.

Covid-19 new mandate/regulations will be followed as set forth by Governor Beshear and the CDC. The family request that visitors respect their desire to keep everyone safe by practicing social distancing guidelines and to wear a face covering of some sort.
