Joseph Dean Nickell, 73, of Lexington, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024 at his home after an illness. He was born February 19, 1951 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, son of Robert B. Nickell and Beatrice Salyer Nickell. He was a member of the Church of God, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He retired from IBM as a product planner. He was united in marriage to Ruby Kelly on November 18, 1972.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert B. & Beatrice Salyer Nickell and one brother Harold B. Nickell.
Surviving is his loving wife Ruby Kelly Nickell and one son Joseph Christopher Nickell, Lexington, Kentucky. One brother Carl B. Nickell of Morehead, Kentucky. Three sisters, Arlene Howerton of S.C., Elaine & Russell Mays of Wellington, Kentucky, and Carolyn Sue & James Brumley of Louisville, Kentucky. Host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 1:oopm Thursday, October 10, 2024. in the Ezel Cemetery, U.S. 460,Presbyterian Church Road, Ezel, KY 41425 with Rev. Rick Hughes officiating. Visitation will be 6:00pm Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be family.
