Martie Keith Adkins, of West Liberty, Kentucky, died Tuesday, September 15, 2020 in Lexington, Kentucky at the University of Kentucky Medical Center after a short battle with cancer. He was 64 years old.
Keith was born in West Liberty, Kentucky on May 5, 1956 to the late James Jr. and Nell (Cantrell) Adkins. He spent the bulk of his life as a cross-country commercial truck driver and enjoyed traveling the highways and exploring the USA as he delivered freight. He also taught a whole host of student drivers as a commercial driving instructor. He enjoyed watching and reading westerns, fishing, playing ping-pong, spending time with his furry friend, Luna, and raising tomatoes in his garden.
He is survived by two sons that he shared with Gwenda Lynn (Huff) Johnson; Joshua Keith and Ashleigh (Killin) Adkins of Lexington, Kentucky, and James Kevin and Stacy (Skaggs) Adkins of Morehead, Kentucky. At the time of his passing, he had one granddaughter, Avery June Adkins of Morehead, Kentucky. He is survived by his son Dalton Thomas Clyde Adkins of West Liberty, Kentucky, whom he shared with Amanda (Pack) Nichols.
The cremation will take place in Mt. Sterling, KY. At this time, no memorial service is scheduled. Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.
