Kenneth 'Kenny' Jerry Hopkins

Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Jerry Hopkins, age 70, of Lexington, KY, passed away Monday, July 19,2021 in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, KY after a brief illness. He was born November 16,1950 at Rockhouse, KY to Armel and Polly Kennard Hopkins. Kenny attended Morgan Co. High School and began his working career as process agent for Fredrick & Kelly Coal Company. Become Vice President of St. Clair Hanover Coal Co., Detroit, Michigan. He retired from Don Jacobs Auto Sales of Lexington, KY.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth Jerry Hopkins II, two granddaughters, Kaitlynn (Brock) Standafer, Ashley Clay Hopkins (Logan Hunley). One great-granddaughter, Kenzie. One brother Lowell (Doris) Hopkins of Middletown, Ohio. Two sisters, Carolyn Elam of Morehead,KY. Vanessa (Jerry) Elam of West Liberty, KY. Sister-in-law, Patsy Hopkins, West Liberty, KY. One uncle Paul Hopkins of Norman, OK. Two very special caregivers, Julia Eversole and Sonia Boaz Puckett. Host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Armel & Polly Kennard Hopkins, four brothers, William Joe, Robert Dale, Larry, Benny Scott Hopkins. One sister, Betty Jenkins, nephew William Travis Hopkins, niece, Kelli Louise Elam.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Thursday, July 22,2021 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Jimmie Adkins officiating. Burial in the Brown Cemetery, Hwy 364,Rockhouse,KY. Visitation will be 11:00am, Thursday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers: Greg Jenkins, Tony Jenkins, Jerry Dale Elam, David Elam, Joe Dunn, Brock Standafer.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 3:00pm, Thursday at the home, Jerry Hopkins II, 6262 Hwy 705, Woodsbend, KY.
