Linda Margaret McKenzie

Linda Margaret McKenzie, age 79, of Hwy 772, West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the St. Claire Medical Center, Morehead, KY. Born May 28, 1946, in West Liberty, KY, daughter of Randolph McKenzie and Lilly Dean Lykins McKenzie Gabbard. She was a homemaker as well as a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. Member of the Eastern Star, Elkfork, KY

Surviving are one son, Johnny Clay Shorter Sr. of Mousie, KY, and one daughter, Frankie Dean Rector of Port Saint Lucie, FL. There is one brother, Randolph McKenzie Jr., and one sister, Shirley Hall.  Three grandchildren, Rachael Mayhugh, Christine Inman, and Johnny Shorter Jr., and six great-grandchildren, Lillie Shorter, Hagen Saylor, Kaylin Saylor, Taylor Crothers, Jaden, and Hailie Shorter. One great-great-grandchild, Levi Carpenter.

Her parents, Randolph McKenzie and Lilly Dean Lykins McKenzie-Gabbard, as well as two grandchildren, Dwayne Carrocci Jr. and Morgan Hall, preceded her in death.
