Lisa Ann Adkins, age 49, of West Liberty, Kentucky, departed this life for her heavenly home on June 30, 2025. Born on September 22, 1975, in Morehead, Kentucky, Lisa was the beloved daughter of Billy and Joann Adkins.
She was a 1994 graduate of Morgan County High School and a faithful member of Lick Fork Pentecostal Church, where she joyfully served her Lord and Savior. As a young woman, Lisa knew she needed to be born again. She gave her life to God receiving the Holy Ghost the day of her baptism. Lisa enjoyed listening to gospel music and loved the Jimmy and Frances Swaggart ministries. She loved going to church; Lisa’s faith was the foundation of her life.
Lisa was a wonderful daughter, helpful and obedient to her parents, always looking out for the good of others. She was a very detailed person who loved for everything to be clean and in order. Lisa had a radiant smile and an infectious laugh. Whenever she laughed, it made us all want to laugh right along with her. Lisa adored babies and children, and especially loved spending time with her nephew and nieces. She loved animals and jewelry, especially wearing bracelets. She loved her family and was very proud of her brother. Though Lisa had a childlike spirit, full of wonder, simplicity, and joy, she also possessed a quiet wisdom and a deep discernment which left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
It was obvious to everyone who knew Lisa that she loved her Lord. She was the perfect example of First Corinthians Chapter 13. She was kind and patient, didn’t boast, didn’t envy, and was not proud. Lisa was dearly loved and the joy and light of the family. Now that she is with her Lord and Savior, she no longer knows in part but knows fully even as she is fully known.
Lisa is preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Grace Adkins, and by her maternal grandfather, Randall Joe Bishop.
She is survived by her parents, Billy and Joann Adkins; her brother, Ray Adkins and his wife JoBeth; her nieces, Kaylee Whitley and Kyndall Adkins; her nephew, Tucker Adkins; her grandmother, Billie Jean Bishop; her grandfather, Andy Adkins; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her very much. Lisa was our angel.
