Melinda Gibson Obituary
Melinda Sue Frisby Gibson, age 65, of White Oak, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2026, at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky, following a brief illness. She was born on December 26, 1960, in West Liberty, KY, to the late Charles Frisby and Mary Elam. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Gibson; her father, Charles Frisby; and her niece, Melissa Frisby.
Melinda had a servant’s heart and a deep love for caring for others. She was devoted to her family, friends, and community and was known by all who knew her for her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit. Throughout her life, she selflessly served as a caretaker to many, always giving her time, love, and encouragement without hesitation. Her impact was far-reaching, and her love will be remembered by countless lives she touched.
Melinda was a born-again Christian and found great comfort and strength in her faith. She was ready to meet her Savior, and her family finds peace in knowing she is now in the presence of Jesus.
She is survived by her mother and best friend, Mary Elam; her three sons, Jamie (Lacy) Frisby, Dustin (Meriah) Gibson, and Mark Anthony Gibson; her grandchildren, David and Ben Frisby, Sawyer, Cameron, Lynnley, Bella, Mariah, Brantley, and Willow; her brothers, Jack (Levina) Frisby and Harry (Linda) Frisby; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who loved her deeply and will forever cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Harry Frisby and Bro. Mike Frisby officiating. Interment in the West Liberty Memorial Gardens, West Liberty, KY.
Visitation will be 6:30pm Saturday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers: Jamie Frisby, Dustin Gibson, Mark Gibson, David Frisby, Ben Frisby, Sawyer Gibson, Jason Frisby, Chris Frisby, and Barry Frisby.
