Merle Gevedon

Merle Gevedon age, 87, of Cannel City, KY passed away Sunday June 11, 2023 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia after a brief illness. He was born May 23, 1936 in Cannel City, KY to Olney C. & Dora Nickell Gevedon.

He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior and was a U.S Navy veteran serving from 1955 to 1959. He was a retired construction worker & backhoe operator.

Preceded in death by his father, Olney C. Gevedon & mother Dora Nickell Gevedon. Wife, Norma Easterling Gevedon, 2 sisters, Justine Castle, Julia Anita Gevedon, 4 brothers, Curtis Gevedon, Joe Anderson Gevedon, Ronnie Gevedon, Terry Gevedon.

Surviving are his 3 children, Ronnie & Lisa Gevedon, Gerald Gevedon, Felishea Gevedon (Sam). 3 grandchildren, Logan Keeton, Steven Gevedon, Colten Gevedon. 2 brothers, Dale & Sue Gevedon, Larry & Linda Gevedon & several nieces & nephews.

Funeral service will be held at the Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel at 1:00 PM Wednesday June 14, 2023 with Pastor Jonathan Sargent officiating. Interment will be held at the Whitaker Cemetery, Cannel City, KY. Visitation starts at 6:00 PM Tuesday June 13, 2023 at the Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.
