Michael Ray Adkins December 25, 1970, to June 8, 2026

Michael “Mike” Ray Adkins, age 55 years, 5 months, and 14 days, received his calling home to Heaven from Jesus. He lived at Boldens Branch in Ezel, KY. He passed away at Kindred Care Hospital in Louisville, KY, on Monday, June 8, 2026, at around 11:00 a.m. after a short illness. He was born on Friday, December 25, 1970, at West Liberty, KY, in Morgan County. He was the son of the late Earl Adkins & Shirley (Dulin) Adkins.

He attended school in Morgan County, KY. He was a laborer before becoming disabled. He was a loving husband, father, brother, cousin, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. He loved his family, & his big smile could light up an entire room. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

He was the husband of the late Shelley May (Deer) Adkins, who passed away at the age of 59 on March 4, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelley Adkins; his parents, Earl & Shirley Adkins; his paternal grandparents, John Riley "Jay" & Prudie (Keeton) Adkins; his maternal grandparents, Jesse Ervin & Emma (Jenkins) Dulin; 1 grandson, Waylon Music; 1 niece, Caneishia Adkins; 1 unborn nephew; 1 great-nephew, Wade Michael Trimble; as well as multiple uncles, aunts, cousins & friends.

He is survived by 2 sons: Chad Deer & girlfriend of Winchester, KY & Freddie Bowling & wife, Charlene of Lancaster, KY; 1 daughter, Jeana Fugitt & husband, John of Dingus, KY; 4 grandsons: Anthony Tilley, Chad Mykel Deer, Chayse Deer & Wyatt Music; 4 granddaughters: Jazzalynn Thornsberry, Trinity Deer, Lettie Music & Maci Bowling; his mother-in-law, Judy Deer of Fairborn, OH; 4 brothers: Eugene Adkins & wife, Catrina, of Somerset, KY; Greg Adkins & wife, Penni, of West Liberty, KY; Dean Adkins & wife, Gloria, of Blairs Mill, KY & Shawn Adkins & his wife, Katrina, of Morehead, KY; 2 sisters: Cheryl Trimble & husband, Mitchell, of Sandy Hook, KY & Sheena Adkins of Ezel, KY; 13 nephews, 3 nieces, 15 great-nephews, 13 great-nieces, 2 uncles: Bobby Adkins & aunt, Nancy, of Dayton, OH & Lonnie Dulin of West Liberty, KY; 3 aunts: Margie Kelly & uncle, Bob, of Springboro, OH; Brenda Tipton of Dayton, OH & Jean Smith of Clay City, KY; his cat, Leroy, as well as many cousins & friends.

Funeral services 1:30pm Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Gary Ferguson with a message of comfort to family and friends. Interment in Ezel Cemetery, Ezel, KY

Visitation: 11:30am, Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.
