Mike Skaggs

Mike Skaggs who most of us know as "roach or "Burffre " was a humble man who lived a short but fulfilling life. He enjoyed time with friends and family, hunting, playing cards and drinking with buddies. He was born on  January 5, 1957 in Paintsville, KY. He passed away on April 1, 2019 at his residence at the age of 62 years 2 months and 26 days. He worked a heavy equipment operators and logger. He shared his life with a special person and companion, Diane Fugate and they shared two children together, T.J. Cantrell, and Shannon and Steve Dyke all of Sandy Hook, KY. Mike is also  survived by three brothers Spike & Evetta Skaggs of Morehead, KY: Tike and Debbie Skaggs of Morehead, KY and Ike Skaggs of Paintsville, KY. and three sisters, Patsy and Travis Cantrell, Linda & David Bailey, and Brenda Keeton all of West liberty, KY.  Mike may be gone but he will certainly never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents Buel & Nora Gamble Skaggs, one sister Kathy Skaggs, niece Latosha Osborne and nephew Justin Bailey

Graveside services will be 12:noon Thursday April 4, 2019 at Skaggs Family Cemetery, Moon, KY with speakers Mike Howard and Dillion Horn officiating. Burial in Skaggs Family Cemetery, Moon, KY. Visitation after 6:00pm Wednesday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
