Monteza (Howard) Lykins

Monteza Howard Lykins, age, 82, of West Liberty, KY passed away Saturday November 5, 2022 at the Morgan County ARH, West Liberty, KY after a brief illness. She was born February 16, 1940 in Salyersville, KY to Woodrow & Panzie Howard.

She was a retired School Teacher for the Morgan County Board of Education for 43 years, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Cannel City, KY. She was united in marriage to Edwin Gene Lykins March 11, 1961 to this union they had one daughter Sherry Lynn Munn. She was a graduate of Morehead State University with a Masters Degree in Education. She Belonged to the Homemakers of West Liberty.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother & sister. She Loved helping others and was the glue that held everything together. She will be missed dearly by everyone.

Preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow & Panzie Howard, one brother, Woodrow Howard Jr.

Surviving are her husband, Edwin Gene Lykins of 61 years, daughter, Sherry Lynn Munn (Brian), one granddaughter, Austina Lynnette Phipps (Leroy), one grandson, Brian Clay Munn (Krysten), three great grandchildren, Tinley Jade Phipps, Bentley Clark Phipps, Atley Kate Phipps, four brothers, Nathan Howard, Larry Howard (Elaine), Linvel Howard (Martell), Gregory Howard (Sandra), two sisters, Margarita Arrnett (Myers), Linda Flynt (Teddy). Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday November 9, 2022 at the Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel, West Liberty, KY with Bro. Harry Helton officiating. Interment will be held at the Lykins Cemetery, White Oak, KY Wednesday November 9, 2022. Visitation starts Tuesday at 6:30 at the Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.
