Phillip Duaine Phipps, age 65, of Grassy Creek, KY passed away Friday, April 9,2021 at his home after a brief illness. Born July 10,1955 in West Liberty, KY to Roy and Ruby May Phipps. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.Phillip was a member of the Lick Branch Enterprise Baptist Church. He was a deacon and had been the clerk and treasurer for the past 26 years. He was an avid bird hunter. He loved the outdoors, gardening and farming. Phillip was an incredible man. He loved God,his family,and friends. He was a devoted man of God,husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Surviving are his Wife, JoAnn Williams Phipps, Grassy Creek. His mother-in-law, Ella Williams, West Liberty. Two Daughters, Sherry & Darren Sparkman, West Liberty, and Melissa & Tony Stone, Campton. Four grandchildren, Kendrick Lindon, Chandler Lindon, Preston Hoskins, Larah Sparkman, Three step-grandchildren, DeeJay Sparkman, Chloe Sparkman, Cheyenne Stone. One brother & sister-in-law, Elza & Pamela Phipps, Grassy Creek. A host of family & friends, survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Ruby May Phipps, father-in-law, Kennie Williams, One sister & brother-in-law, Lois & Doyle Lainhart, one brother, Maynard Phipps, and brother & sister- in-law, Clark & Lois Phipps.
Masonic Rites, 8:00pm, Monday in funeral home chapel conducted by Elkfork Lodge#755 F&AM.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Tuesday, April 13,2021 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Roger Skaggs, Bro. Donnie Pack and Bro. Tim Jenkins officiating. Burial in Salem Cemetery, Buskirk, KY. Visitation,6:00pm, Monday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.
