Randall Lee Goodpaster, age 86,passed away May 28,2024 at the West Liberty Nursing and Rehab following a brief illness. Born February 17,1938 on Murphy Fork, KY. He was the son of the late James Ray and Ina Susan (Susie) Haney Goodpaster. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Allan Goodpaster, Ray Goodpaster Jr. and Dolph Goodpaster; and one sister, Nellie Cain.
He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Jones and husband Glenn; grandson, Dr. Colby Jones and wife Megan of Charlottesville, VA; granddaughter, Ashton Jones of West Liberty; great-grandson, Cameron Thomas Jones; sister Pat Puckett and husband Rodney, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Plus his furry cat companion, Charlie.
Randall was a self made mechanic by trade his entire life and entrepreneur to many local business over the years. Most recently, Texaco, Goodpaster's Skating Rink, and Randall's Service Garage.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm,Saturday June 1,2024 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Pastor Hunter Fraley officiating. Interment in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation,11:00am,Saturday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.
Active pallbearers: Colby Jones, Glenn Jones, Glennis Goodpaster, Jeffrey Hammonds, Steve O'Connor, Sam Hutchinson, Charlie Perry, and Lynn McClurg.
Honorary pallbearers: Russell Cox, Stanley Franklin, Bob Youell, Rodney Puckett, Paul Franklin, and Danny Fannin.
