Rita (Adkins) Davis

Rita Adkins Davis, age 65, of Steele Branch Road, West Liberty, KY, won her battle with cancer and went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 10,2020. Born September 12, 1954 in Morgan County. She was the beloved daughter of Luke and Dovie Davis Adkins.

Survivors include her husband Danny P. Davis of 34 years and 5 months of West Liberty, her son Bradley Luke Adkins of West Liberty; two sisters Freda & Robert Collett of Morehead,KY; and Wanda Davis of West Liberty, KY; Special nephews Ryan Davis and Chad Daniel Collett; and countless friends.She was preceded in death by her parents Luke and Dovie Davis Adkins and one brother-in-law Allen K. Davis.

She played a part in many life long memories that mattered to your heart!! Every day was special with her! Her wonderful soul extended to her faith. A member of the Index Community Church. Her illness never broke her spirit. Graduate of Morehead State University with Masters Degree in Education, retired teacher of 35 plus years. A teacher of true character and talent who never forgot the human element of the story. She was a life long advocate of helping children. She loved teaching and helping those who needed it most. She has touched thousand of lives.

Due to COVID-19 requirements set forth by Governor Beshear and the CDC. Private family burial will be Wednesday, April 15,2020 at Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY, with Rev. Mike Frisby officiating. Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY in care of arrangements of Rita Adkins Davis. Active pallbearers: Robert Collett, Chad Collett, Ryan Davis, Ray Adkins, Michael Hagerman, Montana Brashear. Honorary pallbearers: All of her students she taught through the years.
