Robert Joel Coffee

Robert Joel Coffee, age 65, of West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 in his home after a hard-fought battle with cancer and Parkinson's Disease. He was born November 24, 1956 in West Liberty, KY. Robert was a graduate of Morgan County High School, earned a Drafting Degree from Rowan County Technical School, and was a retiree of the Kentucky Highway Engineering Department.

Robert was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Mays for more than 43 years, raised two children, accepted the Lord as this savior, and was a member of Bethany Enterprise Baptist Church. Robert had a passion for farming and raising cattle, was quite the card shark, loved bluegrass music, and there's not a western made that he didn't know word-for-word. But the thing he loved most was being Pap. Spoiling his grandkids was his favorite thing to do. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Alice Faye Coffee Gamble.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Mays Coffee of West Liberty, KY; one son, Jason Robert Coffee (Lindsay Murphy) of Lexington, KY; one daughter, Tracy Lynn Crouch (Paul) of West Liberty, KY; four grandchildren, Madison LaRae Crouch (David Nelson), Zachary Robert Hall-Crouch, Elijah David Crouch, and Jack Carter Coffee; one great grandson, Dominic Andre Nelson; two sisters, Lora Nell Thornsberry (Wayne and son Cameron) of West Liberty, KY, Ida May Carty (Ricky) of Salyersville, KY; many other loving and caring family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Friday, February 18th. at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bros. Rick Pelfrey and Jimmie Tharp officiating. Burial will follow at Mays  Family Cemetery on Centerville Road in West Liberty. Visitation will be Thursday, February 17th. at 6pm in Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral home, West Liberty, KY.  Pallbearers will be Jay Coffee, Josh Coffee, Ricky Carty, Paul Mays, Glen Jones, and John Aragon.
