Vernell (Howard) Nipper

Vernell Howard Nipper, 87, of Ezel, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in West Liberty Nursing Home & Rehab after an extended illness. She was born November 2, 1935, in Salyersville, KY, the daughter of Sam Howard & Dolly Risner Howard.

Surviving are her four children, Nellie & Sam Shelton, Janie & David Bowman, Ann & Curt Mayabb, and David & Amanda Nipper, and eight- grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Dolly Risner Howard, husband Dorman Nipper and son Gigger Nipper, and one granddaughter Karry Jones, three brothers, and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2023, in Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Harry Flannery officiating. Interment in Ezel Cemetery, Ezel, KY. Visitation is at 6:30 pm, Thursday, at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.

Pallbearers are Shannon Bowman, Kevin Nipper, Nathan Bowman, Ryan Bowman, Skyler Bowman, Bryce Nipper, Jonathan Cosby, and Ryley Bowman. Honorary pallbearers are David Bowman, Sam Shelton, Curt Mayabb, Kevin Lawson, and Colt Bowman.
