Vernon Hicks

Vernon Hicks, age 68, of Perry Road, West Liberty, KY passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019 in the U.K.Hospital,Lexington,Ky after a brief illness. He was born June 20, 1951 in Mousie, KY. Vernon was a member of the Zag Community Church, Zag, KY. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and watching wresting, mushroom hunting, loved the outdoors and watching storms. He was preceded in death by his parents Rush and Pina Caudill Hicks and one brother Ray Hicks.

Surviving is his wife Ann Ritchie Hicks of West Liberty, KY; one daughter Brenda Hicks Rutkowski of Butler,IN; two sons, Vernon Hicks Jr and Gary Wayne Hicks of West Liberty,KY. Four grandchildren, Haley Rutkowski, Taylor Rutkowski, Katlyn Rutkowski, Emily Hicks. Three great-grandchildren Carter Centurioni, Wyatt Shanyfelt, Elena Shanyfelt. Two sisters, Loraine Hicks Wallen (Roger) of Garrett,KY. Jean Hicks Varney of West Liberty,KY. Two brothers David Hicks (Brenda) of Columbus,OH. Gary Hicks of McDowell, KY.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm Wednesday July 24,2019 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Donald Cox officiating. Burial in Riggsby Family Cemetery, West Liberty, KY. Visitation will be 6:00pm Tuesday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers: Katlyn Rutkowski, Marshall Shepard, Bo Shepard, Vernon Hicks Jr, Brendon Dale Ritchie, Johnny Ritchie Jr.
