Wanda Lee Combs

Wanda Lee Combs, age 88, of West Liberty, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 18,2020 after an extended illness. She was born September 8, 1931 in Simpson, KY, a daughter of Kelly and Fairy Turner Hounshell. She was a member of the Glen Avenue Church of God, West Liberty, KY. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,sister and great-grandmother.

Surviving is one son, Larry & Rhonda Combs of Dayton,Ohio. Two sisters, Carol Pelfrey of Frankfort, KY, and Clara June Hays of Jackson,KY. One brother, Kelly Gene & Dee Hounshell of Valparaiso,IN. Four grandchildren, Roger Ryan VanHoose (Stephanie) of Paintsville,KY. April VanHoose Kidd (Sherwin) of Georgetown,KY. Dawana VanHoose Luster (Lucas) of Bardstown,KY. Jason Combs & Ashley Hart of Dayton,Ohio. Ten great-grandchildren, Loren, Mason, and Wesley VanHoose, Ashley Kidd, Sophia & Bailey Luster, Jordan, Faith, William, and Logan Combs. Host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelly and Fairy Turner Hounshell, her stepdad, William “Pap” King, her husband, William “Bill” Combs, daughter Donna VanHoose, two sons, Michael Combs and Steve Combs, brother, Ray Hounshell, and sister, Ruby Lockard.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm,Sunday,February 23,2020 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Bro. Jeff Farmer and Bro. Raymond Van Cleave officiating. Burial in the Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY. Visitation will be 11:am Sunday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.  Pallbearers: Larry Combs, Jason Combs, Roger Ryan VanHoose, Gene Hounshell, Sherwin Kidd, and Lucas Luster.
