Wanda Sue (Fraley) Holbrook

Wanda Sue Fraley Holbrook, age, 82 of West Liberty, KY passed away August 28, 2023 at her home after an extended illness. She was born June 21, 1941 in Soldier, KY to Ernie & Freeda Marie Johnson Fraley.

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ernie & Freeda Marie Johnson Fraley, husband, Lewis Holbrook, brother in law, Tom Banks, a special nephew, Mike Day, father & mother in law, Charles & Maudie Ferguson Holbrook.

Surviving are her sons, Ron Holbrook (Stephanie), Jeff Holbrook (Shandra). Grandchildren, Charles Holbrook (Kate), Louis Holbrook, Samantha Holbrook, John Holbrook. Great granddaughter, Winifred Holbrook. Sister, Carol Banks, brother, Larry Fraley (Sheila). Niece, Debie Banks, nephews, Rick Banks (Liane), Michael Fraley (Kazimiera), Mark Fraley (Sara).A special niece & nephew, Machelle & Darrell Holbrook. Several great nieces & nephews. And a host of other family members and loved ones.

Wanda was loved and known for many things including her culinary skills, crafting, love of sports, and kindness.  She spent years feeding Lewis and the community with her baked goods or desserts, and taught multiple cooking and candy creation classes in her friend’s store, Cuisine Unlimited, located in Merrillville, IN.  Wanda’s quilts, cross stitchings, knittings, and patterned clothes can be found in every family member's home, and she never found a baby that didn’t need a blanket!  From her favorite chair, Wanda could be heard hollering at an official or telling the coach how to run the team.  While she wanted to do everything on her own, Wanda loved to help others and was always there to lend a hand.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at the Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel at 1:00 PM Saturday September 2, 2023 with Elder James Wallen & Elder Kenneth Thomas officiating. Interment will be held at the Paint Valley Memorial Gardens in Crockett, KY. Visitation starts at 6:00 PM Friday September 1, 2023 at the Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY.
